My interest in dancemaking lies in structuring physical experience. My choreography centers on movement invention, drawing its content from improvisation, imagery, and thought. The work employs a dynamic movement vocabulary, supported by a solid technical base, driven by action and risk. I address effort and diverse qualities of the body in time and space. I create abstract atmospheres that depict characters and relationships without plot and present reality without being narrative.
